Brian Levinthal is a experimental psychologist who has been working at Valve Corporation since August 2011.[1] He is recognized for his contributions to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Counter-Strike 2, particularly in developing systems related to player behavior analysis and matchmaking algorithms.[2]
Levinthal was brought on board to support the development of CS:GO, focusing on areas such as the properties of virtual economies, player behavior in social settings, and the distinctions between expert and novice players.[2][3] Following the game's release, he continued to be involved with the project, contributing to the development of systems like Matchmaking,[4] Overwatch,[5] Trust Factor,[6] and Regional Standings of professional teams.[7]
