Biography
Born on June 14, 1964, in Detroit, Michigan, Morasky has built a multifaceted career blending music, film, and gaming. Before Valve, he was a founding member of the hardcore punk/noise rock band Steel Pole Bath Tub, established in 1986 with Dale Flattum. The band, known for its experimental sound, toured extensively until its disbandment in 2002. Morasky also worked as a visual effects supervisor on major film trilogies, including The Lord of the Rings and The Matrix, where he specialized in crowd and swarm animation.[1][3]
Morasky joined Valve as a contractor in late 2005 before transitioning to a full-time role approximately six months prior to the release of The Orange Box in October 2007.[4][5] His diverse background in music and technology has since shaped his contributions to Valve’s iconic games. Besides Counter-Strike, Morasky has composed music for numerous titles, including Team Fortress 2, Portal and Left 4 Dead series and Half-Life: Alyx.[1]
