Overtime is a recurring feature in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Counter-Strike 2. It was introduced in Global Offensive as a console command designed for third-party competitive games and fully implemented in Counter-Strike 2 in Premier mode.
Overview[]
Overtime occurs when both teams have played all rounds in regulation time to a draw. In overtime, all players start with $10,000 and play 6 rounds. Whoever wins 4 rounds first wins the match. If the teams tie the score again, a second overtime begins. Overtime has no theoretical end and will continue if the teams continue to tie.
In Counter-Strike 2, the Premier Competitive mode has Overtime, but it only plays once. This means if the match reaches a 3-win to 3-win scenario, the match will end in a draw.
