Palais (de_palais) is a community-created Wingman map featured in Counter-Strike 2. It was added in the November 13, 2024 update and removed in the May 7, 2025 update.
Overview[]
The map Palais is set in Paris, capital city of France, on the roofs of Haussmanian buildings, which appear to be a 3-star hotel called "Hotel de Paris" (meaning "Paris' Hotel") and an art gallery called "Palais des Expositions" (meaning "Exhibition Center").
The terrorists spawn on the 5th floor of the Hotel. A lit van is parked on the street, with its doors open, in front of the main entrance of the Hotel, suggesting the terrorists entered here.
The counter-terrorists, on their side, spawn on the upper floors of the art gallery. A GIGN armored van is also parked in the backyard of the city block, with the entrance of the art gallery present suggesting their entry point inside the complex.
The Eiffel Tower as well as the Tour Montparnasse are visible afar from multiple open areas of the map.

Secret Room[]
A secret room is hidden on the map behind one of the locked doors in "Appartments". It is accessible by following a number of steps in order by pressing:
- In the "Bedroom", picking up a key under a letter with a heart on it on a glass shelf.
- In the "Lobby", opening the letterbox n°7 then picking up the wrench.
- On the bombsite, putting the key on the "Electrical box" then activating it.
- In the "CT start", opening a small white box under the counter then picking up the key. Pressing the red button in this box will activate a lamp and spawn a chicken whose shadow will cast on the wall behind the CTs spawn.
- In the "Appartments", Pressing E on the locked door of the room n°8.
Golden eggs[]
After accessing the secret room, you can find a chicken inside it. Pressing E on him three times will make it hatch a golden egg, and Pressing E on the Minitel on the right will show the locations of the 10 golden eggs.
Finding all the golden eggs will spawn an inflatable dinosaur balloon on top of the green box on the bombsite. Exploding the balloon will activate the rain for all players on the map. On an unacessible room behind the door 5 in "Appartments", there is a ghost of the balloon, a frame mourning him where we learn it is called "Jean-Michel", a lit candle on the floor and the inscription "WHY ?" on the wall. Killing the ghost will make the rain disapear. This room also has a roof window that is impossible.
After findings all 10 eggs, the freight elevator in the "Lobby Area" becomes openable by pressing E, going through it and falling in will teleport you in the elevator in "T Start" where there will be a small message of the maps creators and photos of other maps by the same creators. After exiting the elevator, the Minitel on "T Start" will show the credits of the map with a cat watching it. You can take milk from the fridge and give it to the cat.
Easter eggs[]
- The exihibition center holds an exhibition called "Poutiline Retrospective", named after one of the creators of the map, Maxime Poutiline.
- A cat is roaming around the map, it can be seen :
- On the "Roof" chasing a mouse then hiding in a hole next to cat tags with a tuna can in it.
- Sleeping on the chair on one the hotel's balconies.
- In the secret room trying to catch the chicken.
- At the end of the secret quest watching credits of the map.
- Also at the end of the secret quest on a chair with the chicken in the "Lobby".
- On a poster for a lost cat on the "Roof" saying "Don't shoot at him please" and reavealing his name to be "cat.vmdl".
- Multiple elements (a bag, a shop and a book) are branded "Chenal", parodying the famous french luxury brand "Chanel".
- The Gendarmerie Nationale agents "Chef d'Escadron Rouchard" and "Officer Jacques Beltram" are guarding the street next to two french police cars.
- The shop called "De Vitis" on the street is permanently closed with a sign that reads : "FERMETURE DEFINITIVE Chers clients, nous n'avons plus d'argent, c'est la merde! *J'ai la flemme de modéliser l'intérieur du magasin." which translates to : "PERMANENT CLOSURE Dear clients, we no longer have money, it's all crap! *I'm too lazy to render the inside of the shop"
- In the "Downstairs" area of the map, small paintings on the walls in the stairs show minimaps of multiple Wingman maps mostly featured in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
- Multiple Minitels, which are french computers that ran an ancestor to the WorldWide Web, can be seen around the map.
- All the emergency evacuation plans around the map are very poorly drawn with a stick figure and the inscription "TOO LAZY TO DRAW VALVE PLS FIX !"
- On the bombsite, on the big green box that reads "Dépot de Composte" (means "Compost Deposit") there is a small sticker that reads "ICI C'EST POURRI" (meaning "HERE IT'S ROTTEN") parodying the Paris Saint-Germain's football club slogan "ICI C'EST PARIS" ("HERE IT'S PARIS"). Pressing E on this sticker spawns a football ball on the bombsite similar the one found on Dust II.
- In the "Loft" area, there is a white painting called "SPATTER" described as "Blood on canvas" even though the painting is fully white. This is a reference to the iconic french film "The Intouchables" where in a scene, one of the characters describes an abstract art painting with a big red spatter on it, as "nosebleed stain on a white background", hence the "Blood on canvas".
- On the window side in the "Bedroom" area a book has for title "JE ME FAIS CHIER" (which means "I am bored" but in a vulgar way), it is subtitled "A book about nothing written by a bored french aristocrat".
- Still in the "Bedroom", on the glass shelf, multiple books have titles that are references to Counter-Strike content creators:
- "Anomaly's Fashion" with a balaclava on it, as Anomaly always wears these.
- "How to end a video when you still have no closer", referencing WarOwl's iconic end line "and I still have no closer".
- "Content creators obsession with upscalling" referencing 3kliksphilip's multiple videos on the subject.
- In the "CT Start" there is multiple Paris' postcards but instead of beautiful images there are pictures of Paris' streets full of garbage during a garbage collectors strike in 2024.
- Street signs on the map indicate they are from the 21st "arrondissement" ("district") of Paris which does not exist as there is only 20.
- In the "Lobby" area, there is a parody of the french painting Liberty Leading the People with Counter-Strike skins on it such as an AWP | Dragon Lore, an AWP | Gungnir or ★ Karambit | Lore
- On the same note, in the "Tower" area, on the dome on the roof is a parody of The Creation of Adam featuring Adam carrying a C4 while god represented as Gabe Newell hands him a defuse kit. A depiction of both bombsites of the map Dust II are also present.
- Another painting called Napoleon retreat from Moscow is present mutliple times around the map, without any modifications, and the Mona Lisa is hidden in unacessible stairs in the "Lobby" and its reflection can be seen.
