―SEAL Team 6
The SEAL Team 6, also known as U.S. Navy SEALs in Deleted Scenes, is a Counter-Terrorist faction featured in the Counter-Strike series.
SEAL Team 6 is the oldest Counter-Terrorist faction in Counter-Strike, making their first appearance in Beta 1.0.
They were the first Counter-Terrorist faction available in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Beta.
Overview[]
SEAL Team 6 is a special operations force for the United States Navy, created in the aftermath of the failed Operation Eagle Claw. The failure of the Operation made the US Navy saw the need for a full-time counter-terrorist unit, and tasked Navy officer Richard Marcinko with its design and development. SEAL Team 6 was formally created in October 1980, and Marcinko was the first commanding officer of this new unit.
In 1987, SEAL Team 6 was dissolved. A new unit, the "Naval Special Warfare Development Group" (NSWDG), or DEVGRU, succeeded the SEAL Team 6. The name SEAL Team 6 is still often used in reference to DEVGRU.
Official Description[]
ST-6 (to be known later as DEVGRU) was founded in 1980 under the command of Lieutenant-Commander Richard Marcinko. ST-6 was placed on permanent alert to respond to terrorist attacks against American targets worldwide.

“Combat-ready and hungry for wins, SEAL Team 6 soldiers know how to get the job done. I'm just happy to be here.”
―Official Description
Buckshot[]
Buckshot is an Exceptional Agent added in Operation Shattered Web.
“Known as SEAL Team's "Weapons Sommelier" Buckshot has thoroughly field-tested and reviewed almost every available military weapon in staggering depth. ST6 relies on Buckshot's knowledge of lesser-known guns for edge case advantages in ground based operations—but in the interest of time, they strenuously avoid casual conversation on the topic. They talk to me. The guns. They have feelings.”
―Official Description
'Blueberries' Buckshot[]

“Known as SEAL Team's "Weapons Sommelier" Buckshot has thoroughly field-tested and reviewed almost every available military weapon in staggering depth. They talk to me. The guns. They have feelings.”

Lt. Commander Ricksaw[]
Lt. Commander Ricksaw is a Master Agent added in Operation Shattered Web.
“Lt. Commander Ricksaw's comically laissez-faire attitude toward heavy combat keeps his SEAL team calm and deadly in the most dire situations. Having lead more special ops than any other SEAL to date, Ricksaw knows life is short, and encourages his team to make the most of the time they have—including cheerfully serving up bullets and frag grenades to high- value targets at any and all occasions. Hotdogs, hellcats and hand grenades. Hooya!”
―Official Description
Cmdr. Davida 'Goggles' Fernandez[]
Cmdr. Davida 'Goggles' Fernandez is a Master Agent added in Operation Riptide.
“Possessing an exquisite mammalian dive reflex, Cmdr. Fernandez is able to slow her heart rate to undetectable levels and navigate darkness, ice, and deep sea defense systems. She excels in her human aquatic potential and her skill as an elite marksman and soldier. 'Goggles' earned her nickname when a bullet struck her left eye—or would have—if it weren't for 'Wet Sox' reminding her to grab her full kit 'for the last time!' Despite her occasional forgetfulness, Cmdr. Fernandez is one of two elite combat diver SEALs to be awarded The Navy Cross for classified underwater operations. Be still my beating heart.”
―Official Description
Cmdr. Frank 'Wet Sox' Baroud[]
Cmdr. Frank 'Wet Sox' Baroud is a Master Agent added in Operation Riptide.
“First on deck and last off it, Cmdr. Frank Baroud is a third generation SEAL and second combat diver ever to receive The Navy Cross medal; 'Goggles' was the first. Count on Baroud to solve the most complicated underwater and ground based conflict situations, like the time he defused several IED's which were planted in a network of flooded caves beneath a US embassy. Baroud chalks it up to his impeccable attention to detail, because after all, when your life depends on the equipment you're wearing, a simple mistake may be the last one you make. His uncompromising attention to detail earned him the nickname 'Wet Sox'. Double check it. Then triple check it. Then check it again.”
―Official Description
Lieutenant Rex Krikey[]

Appearance[]
In all games prior to Global Offensive, the SEALs wear olive drab green uniforms with combat helmets, black balaclavas, and black kevlar vests (green in Source). In Condition Zero, they wear black goggles on their helmets, and wear orange goggles over their eyes in Source.
In Global Offensive, the SEALs wear MultiCam uniforms with a black chest rig and black FAST helmets with integrated headsets and optional dual mounted AN/PVS-14 NVG's, as well as black, orange, or yellow sports shades. Their default gloves are olive green hard knuckle gloves.
Map/Bot Appearances[]
In the Tour of Duty, the bots that use this skin are:
Outside the Tour of Duty, the following bots will use the SEAL Team 6 skin as a Counter-Terrorist and the Phoenix Connexion skin as a Terrorist:
These bots are unchanged in Source.
In the Counter Terrorist Training, many SEAL Team 6 operatives will assist the player to help him in the training. In fact the training building is in Colorado Springs, in Colorado, USA.
In Recoil the SEAL Team 6 is formed by many teams, but in the game there are only three teams featured: the Bravo 3 Team (that has the function of a rescue squad), the Delta Team, (that has an important operative, the Delta Force Sniper) and the Redtail 5 Team, the one of the player. The Bravo 3 Team will help the player to escape the city along with the Delta Force Sniper.
In DrugLab some SEAL Team 6 squads will raid a drug factory of a Guerilla Warfare drug band. The player is part of the Spider Team, that will rescue two hostage politicians in the factory.
In Alamo a team of the SEAL Team 6 will raid a fictional city, Yipity, in a fictional region between Tunisia and Libya, the Boshistan. In Yipiti there are some hostages that need to be rescued, by a gang of the Elite Crew that populates the city, and has taken two hostages near the restaurant King Kabob. In this mission the only two SEAL Team 6 operatives are seen in the start of the game, and they're scripted to die in a point of the mission even if they're not hit by physical bullets. They have more health than usual. At the end of the mission, the two operatives that are part of the rescue team are two SAS operatives.

Bugs and Exploits[]
- Following the release of Counter-Strike 2, if the player is playing on Hostage rescue maps with some of the NSWC SEAL/TACP agents that reuse the Seal Team 6 voicelines, picking up hostages will not play their hostage rescue voicelines due to the faction lacking any quotes relating this game mode, instead, they will play voicelines derived from the SEAL Frogman Agent "Cmdr. Frank 'Wet Sox' Baroud".
Trivia[]
- SEAL Team 6 in the early Counter-Strike beta stages had blue uniforms rather than green ones and lacked their masks. This was changed in Beta 7.0.
- All Bullpup-wielding CT bots in Tour of Duty use the ST6 model.
- In Counter-Strike: Source, there is a old model that was used in the beta versions of Source. It can still be found in the game files.
- Two M4A1-wielding ST6 operatives are depicted on the box art for Counter-Strike: Source. Two versions of this artwork exist, one with the SEALs having their in-game green uniforms, and one where they wear blue uniforms matching that of the other Counter-Terrorists.
- In Global Offensive, one of the model variants appear to have a Beretta 92G Elite II pistol.
- The SEAL Team 6 quotes in Global Offensive make use of the military phonetic alphabet during gameplay including "We're Oscar Mike" standing for "On the Move" or sometimes, "On Mission" amongst others.
- In Global Offensive custom maps, the default CT player model is set to the first ST6 model (st6.mdl) if no kv file is set for the map.
- The Kidotai is tied with the U.S. Navy Seals (and SAS counting their appearance in Alamo) for appearing in the most missions in Deleted Scenes.
- The first design of this faction in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive looked like the exact same as concept art. They wore balaclavas with different colors and patterns, and the fifth variant had goggles that were seen in a video of the console port version.
- In the models\player folder, there are three unused models for the SEAL Team 6: an oddly-posed "base" model with no helmet or vest, a model with just the helmet, and one with just the vest.
