“Season Corporation, a Japanese bio-research facility, has its white walls painted red by a Phoenix demolition attack.”
―Journal Description
Season (de_season) is a community created map featured heavily in professional competitive play since its creation for Counter-Strike: Source. It has since been included as part of Operation Vanguard in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
On the October 13, 2016 Update, the map was removed from the game files, making Season inaccessible via console.
Overview[]
The conflict is occurring within a bio-research facility in Tokyo, Japan. Mount Fuji is visible in the distance in the skybox. The map features clean aesthetics with a significant usage of white and other simple, bright whole colors.
The Counter-Terrorist force is the SAS and the Terrorist force is the Phoenix Connexion.
Development[]
“A bomb defusal map set in a Greenhouse complex called Season Bio-Research Inc. The NSA has classified supply stashes in the area that the Counter-Terrorists must defend.”
―Map Description (OLD)
Season was originally an unofficial Counter-Strike: Source map created by Ted McIlwain to be used in CPL, CEVO, and CAL tournaments. It was a popular choice in professional tournaments.
Before Operation Vanguard, it was updated by the creator a first time and ported to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and remains a popular tournament map. This version features a more grounded and gritty appearance compared to its current iteration. The Terrorists are the Balkans while the Counter-Terrorists are the SWAT team.
The map's current iteration is the map's second overhaul, made with the help of FMPONE.
