Souvenir is a quality in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive applied to a limited number of weapon finishes exclusively received from souvenir packages. Souvenir items have a Souvenir prefix in addition to the having a item a yellow frame and text on Steam.
Overview[]
Souvenir weapon skins can only be obtained from souvenir packages, which are exclusive to major events. Formerly, these were dropped to viewers of the matches at random, however, since StarLadder Berlin 2019, souvenir packages can only be obtained through Souvenir tokens, which can be purchased through the In-game Store.
The weapon skins correspond to the type of package which is opened. For example, if a player opens a Mirage souvenir package, they will receive a weapon skin from the Mirage Collection. Through the years these collections have been updated with newer weapon skins. The souvenir package will correspond to the newest version of the map's collection when the package was originally added to the game. For example, the Mirage StarLadder Berlin 2019 Souvenir Package will use the Original Mirage Collection. With Operation Riptide, the 2021 Mirage Collection was released, which packages since have used.
The exceptions to this are the DreamHack 2013 and the EMS One 2014 packages. Instead of using the weapon collections from the Active Duty Group, these packages are non-specific and use a variety of collections from numerous maps across different modes.
Historically, these weapon skins will use Stickers which are rare or even unobtainable through other means. However, since PGL Stockholm 2021, Gold stickers have been available through capsules, meaning these stickers are non-exclusive to souvenir weapon skins.
Trivia[]
- Souvenir skins cannot be used in a Trade Up Contract.
- The R8 Revolver - Bone Mask, and R8 Revolver - Amber Fade are the only skins to be added to an existing souvenir package.
