The Storage Unit is a Base Grade Tool added to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on the November 22, 2019 update.
Overview[]
The Storage Unit allows the player to store items in their inventory inside it, saving up the limited inventory space the player has. Items stored inside the Storage Unit cannot be equipped or interacted with, and must be taken out to be used.
Storage Units can only be acquired by purchasing from the In-game Store for a price of $1.99 (USD)/1,75€ (EUR)/£1.69 (GBP) . Default weapons, Service Medals, Pick'Em Trophies and other Storage Units cannot be stored into a Storage Unit. Storage Units can be renamed for free without the use of a Name Tag and the name tag will show on the item in a Steam inventory the same way a renamed item would.
Trivia[]
- The introduction of a storage unit means a player can own up to 999,001 items. This is because 999 storage units can be filled with 1000 items but the last storage unit cannot be filled with anything as there is no room left in the inventory.
- When the Storage Unit was introduced, items had to be added individually. This was changed in the November 26, 2019 update where items could be batch added to Storage Units, making depositing and retrieving a much easier process. However, items are retrieved and deposited one at a time which is still time consuming.
- Prior to the October 26, 2022 update, storage units could not be deleted. Storage units can now be deleted if they are empty. This does not refund the user the cost of the storage unit.
