Overview

Transit (de_transit) is a community-created Wingman map featured in Counter-Strike 2. The map was added on October 1, 2025 and removed two days later on October 3, 2025, due to use of copyrighted and hidden inappropiate content.[1]

Overview[]

The map is set on a busy street in Vietnam. Twice every round, a train passes through the central railway, which can be used for fast rotations, setting up unexpected attacks, or creating confusion among opponents.

Controversy[]

Despite its interesting concept, the map was removed just two days after being added to the game, reportedly due to several controversial issues.

There was an easter egg on the map that involved missing cat posters scattered around the level. Collecting all four would cause a cat in bucket to appear. The posters themselves featured the cat from the video game Stray, which posed a potential copyright issue. However, a far more serious problem was that the entity name for the logic handler of this easter egg contained a racist name.[2]

Doofmap

In addition, at CT Spawn, in a far distance, there is a building that closely resembled “Doofenshmirtz Evil Inc.” from Phineas and Ferb. Similar to the previous issue, this raised further copyright concerns. Moreover, the building’s original sign had been replaced with an advertisement for a cryptocurrency bank, which was later confirmed by the bank itself on social media.[3]

Among the surrounding skyscrapers, there is also a building displaying an advertisement for the largest financial pyramid scheme in the history of Russia.[4] Unlike the cryptocurrency bank, however, this company had been dissolved, and its inclusion in the map was most likely intended as a joke.

Following the map’s removal, its level designer and team lead, Artyom "Rikuda" Mironov, explained that Valve had not contacted him regarding these problems.[4][5] He stated that, had he been notified, he would have corrected the issues immediately. He further admitted that the offensive entity name associated with the cat easter egg was intended as a joke, emphasizing that in his country racism is not as prominent an issue, and claimed the name was meant to be changed prior to release but was accidentally overlooked.

After its removal from the game, the map was updated on Steam Workshop, where the creators addressed all of the identified problems (with the exception of the bank advertisement). However, its official return is not expected, as Valve have stated that they have no plans to bring it back to the game.[1]

Trivia[]

  • Transit was the only wingman map to have a moving platform.
  • You can be ran over by the train, and there is a loud horn that plays when you are in front of it.
  • There was an easter-egg that allowed T players to get the USP-S, but this has been removed in the latest version available in the workshop for an unknown reason.
  • This map has been in the game for the shortest period of time, being only available for 2 days.
