Valve Corporation, previously known as Valve Software, or simply Valve (stylized VALVE), is a video game development and digital distribution company founded by Gabe Newell and Mike Harrington. It's mostly known for creating the Half-Life series, along with several other popular titles and the Steam digital distribution platform. During the beta phase of Counter-Strike, Valve teamed up with Minh Le and Jess Cliffe and eventually helped them create a stand-alone game.
